Geocoding is the process of transforming a description of a location—such as a pair of coordinates, an address, or a name of a place—to a location on the earth’s surface. This video shows you how to geocode a table of addresses using ArcGIS.
We rebuilt our client’s geocoder to reflect updated reference data and improve address results. Baseline testing scenarios were developed to improve accuracy and increase performance. Our performance tuning and optimization yielded the outstanding results seen below.
The geocoder will ultimately be published as a REST web service and can be used in web mapping API’s by developers.
